This image taken by Hubble shows the quasar MC2 1635+119. The quasar sits in an indisturbed elliptical galaxy which shows a shell structure indicating a recent merger. An intermediate population of stars is dominating the galaxy and probably the result of a strong star burst at the time of the merging process.
